Default MMORPG's Behaviors

Hi!

My name's Mat and I'm a computer games technology student at the University of Portsmouth, I'm currently writing my dissertation about MMORPG behaviours. I was wandering whether any of you could spare 5 minutes and fill out my questionnaire, it would be much appreciated!

It can be found here: http://behaviours.speedsurvey.com

Please remember that this is to do with my degree, so only fill it out if you intend to answer properly. Cheers!

Filling it out now...but I have a gripe: when we're asked what systems we own, we can only select one. Is that intentional or...?

So we will never get to see the results of this information? So sad. It would be really cool to see how it all works out, and which people play which game.
Anyways, Good luck!

Filled it out, but, no offense, I'm not filling out the email address that ALSO happens to serve as my account name. I don't expect that many will give that to you.

The only reason I ask for participants e-mail addresses is so that I can send them a follow up e-mail at a later date informing them of what my results showed. I am required to offer a follow up due to ethical reasons.

If you'll look closely, my post is several days older and the OP fixed it.

Done.

Good range of questions. Could have made your range of games broader though.

Done... couple of questions I really had a problem with, though...

24.) Which of the following two statements, best describes you as a gamer?
I buy many games; play fairly often, sometimes for long periods of time
I buy a few games, generally big titles, play occasionally often for short periods of time

How 'bout "I buy a very few games; the ones I buy I play obsessively for long periods of time" (that'd be me) or "I buy many games, play occasionally often for short periods of time" (that'd be me playing Devil's Advocate ;D ).

30.) Do you become easily bored with other games and just stop playing them?
Yes
No

What about judging a game to be "boring" before you even start playing it? How would you define "easily bored"? And what do you mean by "other" games? Other MMORPG's?

34.) What other genres of games do you play?
Arcade
FPS
God Games
Racing Simulation
RPG's
Strategy
Sports Simulation

Do "Monster Rancher" & "Viva Pinata" qualify as a "god games"? ^_^

And what the heck would you call Bemani games (DDR, Karaoke Revolution, Guitar Hero, etc)?

Other categories that may have been useful (especially for the casual online PC gamer &/or XBox Live Arcade set) might be card/board & puzzle.
